I have been wanting to eat here for awhile and wasn’t disappointed. There was a goat curry special and it was delicious. Our table also had the jerk chicken (which may have been dumbed down for the Canadian palate), which could have been “jerkier” and a spicy shrimp dish with a peanut sauce that was incredible. Johnny cakes were served to start and these were great as well.
Service was very friendly and excellent. I would highly recommend that you pay the Konga Cafe a visit. Get your eat on!
the jerk isn’t dumbed-down – it’s jerky and flavourful as ever! real jerk spice mix imported from jamaica! really nothing is super-spicy at the konga unless you want it to be! the food is excellent – freshly made to order, and the drink selection – yum! ask for the peanut butter milkshake, or the parrotfish – a blue-banana-ice-cream-colada! the soup is always delicious, and hearty enough to live on! this mom and pop run joint is one of saskatoon’s best kept secret, and offers something to please every palate!
